Mission: CPPS is committed to building a sustainable network of diverse parent, family, and community voices to ensure a high quality education for all children in Portland Public Schools.

Membership and Leadership Development
Provide training for board and members
- Develop and require cultural competency training for board
- Develop training manual for board and members
Expand CPPS membership
- Add staff person responsible for membership development
- Formalize inclusion of members in projects
Improve governance
- Establish formal criteria for board members
- Intentionally recruit board members based on developed criteria
- Re-write and update bylaws
Public Education/Public Awareness
Raise visibility of CPPS in the community
- Develop a media campaign and strategy
- Train board members to be effective advocates for CPPS
Improve internal operations
- Regular reports and updates on District activities
- Better document history and achievements
Provide information to the public
- More, regularly scheduled workshops and events to bring parents together
