As children and teachers all over the state head back to school, it’s an important reminder of our need to hold the line on funding for education – specifically, why we need to uphold the tax fairness measures in January.

These two measures protect funding for education, healthcare, and public safety while keeping the burden off of middle-class families and the folks who are already struggling just to make ends meet. These measures do this by making sure that corporations and the richest households are paying their fair share to fund classrooms in communities all over Oregon.  Our schools can no longer afford for two-thirds of corporations doing business in Oregon to pay just $10 a year, the corporate minimum income tax (unchanged since 1931).

Voting YES on these measures is critical to protecting Oregon’s classrooms and to making Oregon’s tax system fairer for middle-class families.
