Dear PLC Participant,
Thank you for attending our 9th annual Parent Leadership Conference on Saturday. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Nearly 250 parents and community members from more than 60 schools (and nearly 100 kids!) joined us to participate in our ongoing discussion about parent and community involvement in our public schools.
I hope that the Conference gave you inspiration, motivation and concrete ideas for how you can become even more involved in our schools. Please stay active and encourage your friends, colleagues, and neighbors to join you in defending and supporting public education in these difficult times. If you need help identifying ways to be involved, please email me or visit our website – I want your voice to be heard.
Here are three specific things you can do today:
1) Become a member of CPPS - A basic membership starts at just $5/year – if you like what you saw yesterday, please join us and stay involved – there is power in numbers.
2) Make a contribution to CPPS - Please consider donating $20 or more today to help us continue to offer the Parent Leadership Conference as a free annual event.
3) Send me a story about your experience at the conference – your stories are so important as we move forward and look to further success.
In reading over the feedback from the conference, the overwhelming response was that you wanted more time. “Make the workshops longer”, “Give me more time to talk with other parents to share ideas”. With your involvement we will continue to grow and improve this conference and along with it, make our schools and communities stronger.
If you haven’t yet filled out an evaluation form for the conference, please fill out our online survey. I value your feedback, as well as your ideas for improving CPPS and next year’s event. How did attending the Parent Leadership Conference benefit you? How will you apply what you learned to benefit your student, school, or community? Please email me with any comments, questions, or suggestions that you’d like to share.
Thank you for everything you do for our children and our schools.
All the best,
Doug Wells
President
