Update: The application deadline has now passed, and CPPS is no longer accepting further applicants at this point. Our thanks to those who have helped us spread the word, and to those who have applied.
CPPS is now seeking a Project Manager to manage our new Parent Involvement Curriculum Project.
The Parent Curriculum Involvement Project – a pilot initiative in three Title 1 schools in 2007-2008 – will link parents in grades 3 to 5 with curriculum for writing instruction, so that parents understand what their children are supposed to be learning, how they are being taught, what they (parents) can do at home to assist their child’s learning, and how best to advocate for their child’s needs (if necessary) with school staff. Upon completion of this initial phase, CPPS and PPS will work together to outline a strategy to take the project to scale across the District.
The PCI Project Manager will work closely with the CPPS Parent Involvement Project Committee, parents and staff at three Title I schools; community organizations involved in those schools; and Portland Public Schools curriculum department staff.
